DANNY Becker is heading across the Atlantic for a lead role in award-winning musical Ragtime.
Danny, who recently starred in the West End in Operation Mincemeat, will play Tateh in a J Scott Lapp-directed version of Ragtime at the Karyn Jackson Theatre, in Ventura, California, from October 21 to November 15.
The musical epic, based on the EL Doctorow novel, has recently been off-Broadway, with a cast including Caissie Levy, Brandon Uranowitz and Shaina Taub.
Becker s character, Tateh, is a Jewish immigrant from Latvia who arrives in America with his young daughter. Although fictional, Tateh mirrors the real-life experiences of early Jewish immigrant filmmakers who founded Hollywood.
Set at the start of the 20th century, Ragtime follows a working class black family, a wealthy white family and an immigrant Jewish family.
