Searching for family of Polish airman

JIM Hartley of the Royal Air Force Association in the Yorkshire village of Bradley is seeking relatives of Polish airman Sergeant Abraham Kawenoki who is buried in Liverpool's Long Lane Cemetery.

Sergeant Kawenoki who had joined the RAF with other Poles, died in a crash in the Yorkshire village on September 23, 1943, aged 22.

The RAFA now plans a memorial at the site with a dedication service next year. They are trying to locate relatives of the deceased.

Sergeant Kawenoki is believed to be Jewish.
