Saul died in Spitfire plane crash

MIKE van Venrooij is 16-year-old war researcher from Holland.

He is currently investigating a Spitfire IVX fighter plane crash on March 19, 1945 in the village of Nuland, Holland.

The pilot, who died in the crash, was 23-year-old Saul David Lazarus, of Salford.

Saul was the son of Abraham and Fanny Lazarus, who lived on Tetlow Lane, Higher Broughton, Salford.

Fanny's maiden name was Cosofski.

Saul studied at Waterloo Road School in Manchester and was a former member of the Grove House Jewish Boys' Brigade.

He worked for his father's company before he enlisted in the airforce.

His brother, Joseph Lazarus, served with the Royal Corps of Signals.

Mike would like to hear from any living relatives of Saul David Lazarus.
