LIVERPOOL fan Sam Harris celebrated his barmitzvah at the Hale and District Hebrew Congregation.

LIVERPOOL fan Sam Harris celebrated his barmitzvah at the Hale and District Hebrew Congregation.

The Manchester Grammar School pupil is the son of Julia and Daniel Harris, of Hale,

Brother Charlie, 15, attended along with grandparents Susan and David Harris, of Liverpool, and Madeleine and David Cope-Thompson, of London. Guests joined in the celebrations from Israel.

Sam also enjoys tennis and history.


Grandpa flies in from Florida for Arron's celebration

MANCHESTER City fan Arron Gabel was man of the match at his barmitzvah at Prestwich Hebrew Congregation.

Arron, the son of Lisa and Michael Gabel, of Prestwich, is a pupil at King David High School.

He enjoys computers.

He has a sister, Hannah, 10, and six-year-old brother Daniel.

Present at the simcha were grandparents Sandra and Michael Lipman, of Sunnybank, Bobbie Isaacs, of Prestwich, and Izzy Gabel, who travelled from his home in Delray Beach, Florida, for his grandson's big day.


Ilana's got talent

MULTI-talented Ilana Pearce celebrated her batmitzvah on Shabbat at the United Hebrew Congregation, Leeds.

The daughter of Natalie and David Pearce, of Alwoodley, Ilana is a pupil at the Grammar School at Leeds.

Ilana lists drama, debating and playing the saxophone among her favourite hobbies.

Grandparents Iresine and David Woolf, from Cheadle, Cheshire, together with John and Iris Pearce, of Hull, were among guests at the simcha.

Guests also attended from Israel and America.

Ilana has a 10-year old brother, Sam.


Dramatic entrance

KEEN actor Sam Sklair took centre stage when he celebrated his barmitzvah at Whitefield Hebrew Congregation.

Sam, the son of Lynzi and Stuart Sklair, of Whitefield, enjoys drama at an acting school in Bury and also public speaking through his school, Bury Grammar.

Sister Zoe, 11, shared her brother's big day, as did grandparents Jean and Henry Solomon, of Dublin.
