MAZKIR and social action co-ordinator for Habonim Dror UK Sam Greene is stuck in Israel after going there for an educational seminar for the youth organisation.
“I stayed on for a few days after the trip to see my brother who lives in Modi’in,” he said. “But now I am stuck here until at least the 28th – I was supposed to be home on April 18.”
Sam, of Whitefield. described the situation as very frustrating and even though he is lucky to have a travel agent helping him out, he is eager to get home.
“I want to get back to get on with my work,” he said. “But luckily it isn’t too bad because I have friends and family here.”
Sam is also one of the fortunate few who has the support of a travel agent to help out.
He said: “Everyone has been quite confused but these are such exceptional circumstances, no one could have planned for this. I’m one of the lucky ones.”
Sam, who splits his time between Manchester and London, sad he was most annoyed about missing his mum’s birthday.
“The whole family is going to get together in London this weekend, so it’s irritating I can’t be there,” he said.
